چکیده مقاله:

بیش از ۳۰ سال پیش لبهرز (۲) و همکارانش مطالعه آنتی بیوتیک تراپی را در پارگی زودرس کیسه آب شروع نمودند. انگیزه این بررسی، تشخیص عوارض مربوط به مادر و نوزاد در PROM بوده است، تاکنون تحقیقات وسیعی برای پی بردن به علت PROM و تعیین خط مشی هایی برای کسب نتیجه مطلوب صورت گرفته است. علیرغم این مساله  PROM هنوز به صورت یک «معمای مامایی » باقی مانده است.
